Desire to travel and reasons for refusing to travel
Those who choose to stay at home in 2021 are cited as reasons for the still high risk of contracting coronavirus (42%), the too high cost of travel (37%), unwillingness to undergo quarantine at the destination or to receive certificates of absence of COVID-19 ( 29%). Every tenth person is ready to give up the trip until they discover the region they want. Also, one in ten cited a dislike of travel as the reason.
Type and duration of planned trips
Beach vacation is the undisputed leader among travelers in Russia (70%), in second place is visiting relatives and friends, travel to which was impossible in 2020 due to the risk of the spread of coronavirus infection (47%). The high proportion of those wishing to go hiking (30%) is noteworthy, which can be explained by the desire to move, to get closer to nature after a long stay in apartments in self-isolation and remote work. It is also worth paying attention to 12% of those wishing to combine travel and remote work. Speaking about the ideal duration of travel, 55% of respondents mention 8-14 days; 18% believe that they can fully rest in 4-7 days; 17% - in 15-20 days, and 8% of respondents are ready to rest for three weeks or longer. Only 3% of the respondents would be satisfied with a rest of 1-3 days.
