Camping food without cooking

May 22, 2022
Eating on a hike is always a pleasure. Firstly, a meal break is an opportunity to relax, and secondly, in nature, in the mountains, appetite comes faster, and it is much more pleasant to satisfy it. But eating has another important function - it is the restoration of the strength of all participants in the campaign. After all, it is thanks to a hearty lunch or breakfast that a tourist is saturated with energy to move on.There is an unspoken rule: you need to spend 2 times more time organizing a trip than the trip itself lasts. In other words, it is advisable to start preparing for a weekend hike on Tuesday.
Food for a hike in the summer and its selection is an important stage of preparation, even if you are just going to go to nature with friends. It is important to organize everything in such a way so as not to take too much with you (after all, you will have to carry everything on yourself), but also not to miscalculate and not to remain hungry. Food and water are the first things to think about when planning a hike.

Diet on a hike
Breakfast and dinner are necessarily cooked on a fire - this is a full meal. As for lunch, it all depends on the complexity of the hike. In a leisurely, easy hike, there is time and energy to cook a full-fledged soup or fish soup. If the trip is of a more complex nature, it is not cost-effective to spend precious time preparing dinner. In this case, you can limit yourself to tea with high-calorie sandwiches and brew an instant bagged soup. This will be enough to keep going. If this is a hiking trip with children, take care of hot meals, extra protein, vitamins. When planning portions, for young children, they can be halved.
Food outdoors in summer without cooking
It often happens that during a hike, even if it is not very difficult, there is no strength and energy to cook a full lunch or dinner. But you need to eat, and you won’t get off with light snacks here. Increasingly, tourists prefer ready-made freeze-dried products that do not take up much space in the backpack, but become a full meal during the trip. Freeze-dried food is food that has been vacuum freeze-dried. Moisture is removed from products by vacuum. The benefits of this are enormous: the product decreases in volume and weight, does not lose its useful properties, and its shelf life increases.

Freeze-dried meals include breakfasts, lunches, dinners, meals with and without meat, snacks in the form of nutrition bars, tea and coffee. In other words, you can take exclusively freeze-dried foods on a hike and eat well throughout the hike. To prepare freeze-dried products, just add boiled water and wait 10 minutes. Rice with pork, oatmeal or bulgur with vegetables is ready. Also, the "plus" of such food is that it does not spoil in the heat. This is especially important when hiking in the summer, when a lot of food cannot be taken due to the inability to store them properly.

In addition to sublimates, you can take with you products that do not need to be cooked on a burner. For example, oatmeal or instant muesli (they can be steamed without boiling water), milk powder, cookies, chocolate, cheese, sausage. Thus, you do not need to spend time not only on cooking, but also on washing dishes.

Food for camping
For those who do not like lazy rest, being able to take a backpack on their shoulders and go hiking is the best way to relax. What you need for a camping holiday depends on how you intend to camp and where you prepare your meals. If it's just a weekend trip with friends for one night, you can have a good rest, look around the area where you live, see new places.
Plan your diet at home in advance and make the necessary purchases. So you save a lot by not overpaying for food in the tourist shops that are on the campsites. As in any other case, it is not advisable to take perishable products with you. If it is meat, take it frozen or freeze-dried. In such a trip you can not do without water. Consider how many liters you will need for the entire period of the trip for all group members, because without water it is most difficult to go on a trip. Of course, you can’t carry a 5-liter flask with you. Therefore, during a hiking trip, you can buy more water or fill empty containers in the springs along the way.
One of the universal products are cereals, from which cereals are prepared. If the trip is not long, you can take canned food and stew (but remember that they are quite heavy and take up a lot of space). It is advisable to stock up on vegetables and fruits that do not spoil quickly. Grab tea, coffee, biscuits for a nice fireside gathering in the evening. You can also take your favorite sweets, nuts, chocolate, condensed milk - they are also high-calorie and at the same time they are easy to store.

Note that even in a two-day light hike with tents, sublimates will be appropriate. It is enough just to calculate how much and what products are needed for the entire group of tourists - and the problem with food will disappear by itself. You have the opportunity to plan a menu for both vegetarians and those who love meat. And the variety of products allows you to eat new dishes every day of the trip, which will not have time to become boring. An overnight camping trip is a good way to take a break from everyday life and the noise of the city, gain strength and "reboot".
Picnic food
A trip to the forest or to the lake allows you to relax and unwind from the daily hustle and bustle. Therefore, many of us love nature trips so much, even if they are short-lived. A picnic is always a good opportunity to relax in nature with loved ones, friends or a loved one. But even such an innocent hike requires careful meal planning. Before deciding what food to take, you need to count the number of participants in the trip. Then you can proceed to the list of products, taking into account the taste preferences and wishes of all group members. It is not recommended to take perishable foods if it will not be possible to eat them in the next 2 hours.
Hiking, even if for 1 day, will be successful and unforgettable if you plan it correctly. Do not regret spending some time at home so that everyone enjoys outdoor recreation. Remember that the process of preparing food on a hike should not cause difficulties and take a lot of strength and energy. Make this process easy so that you can fully enjoy the travel itinerary.

What to see in Italy first

May 19, 2022
Each of the listed sights has its own history, and in order to find out you will need guides in Italy who will accompany you to the most interesting places. Consider also the dates of the trip, because, for example, during the period of religious or national holidays, much more tourists flock to the country.

1. Vatican (Rome)

Looking through the guide and choosing what to see in Italy, you can not miss the most famous enclave in the world, which is the Vatican. Each building of this mini-state is a landmark known far beyond the borders of the country. Here you can walk along the alleys of the famous Vatican Gardens and see the Pope with your own eyes, climb the dome of St. Peter's Basilica, visit the Sistine Chapel with its immortal frescoes created by Michelangelo, Botticelli and other great painters.
To enter the territory of the Vatican, you must go through a strict dress code. Guides in Rome will tell you what rules of conduct must be observed to avoid troubles and misunderstandings. The first attraction that guests are offered to visit is St. Peter's Cathedral. The dimensions of the building are striking - the height is 136 meters, and the length of the main nave is 211 meters. But the main value here is the numerous sculptural and pictorial masterpieces created by the great masters of Italy.
2. Pantheon (Rome)

When choosing the sights of Italy that you should definitely visit on your first visit, you cannot miss such a monumental building as the Roman Pantheon. Originally built in 25 BC, it was destroyed several times by natural disasters, rebuilt and even "changed religion". But until now, hundreds of people daily strive to get under its arches in order to stand under the dome, admire the beautiful frescoes and statues, feel the breath of eternity and the inexorable destructive power of time at the same time. The grandeur and beauty of the interior decoration of the Pantheon is amazing.Passing under the arch of the portico, supported by 16 marble columns, you find yourself in the main temple building, which is crowned with a dome with a diameter of 43 meters. In its center there is a large round hole, called the Heavenly All-Seeing Eye. According to legend, he was pierced by evil spirits, wanting to escape from the sacred place at the beginning of the Mass.A feature of the light penetrating through the oculus is that at noon its rays do not scatter, but fall clearly vertically, forming a kind of light column and moving from one statue to another during the day, paying tribute to them. The walls and the altar are decorated with magnificent frescoes, partly created by Renaissance masters. There are statues in numerous niches, and the walls and floor are lined with mosaic tiles. In the center of the temple there are benches for those who want to pray or just relax.

The Truth About Cruises!

May 03, 2022

Geography of cruises

You can see the prices and rating of cruises on the website cruisecritic .
More recently, it was believed that sea cruises are a boring, measured vacation for very wealthy elderly people. Recently, significant changes have taken place in the cruise industry: cruisers have become “younger”, and the trips themselves have become more interesting and variable in price. Sea and ocean cruises are now considered one of the most promising sectors of the global tourism business. This segment of the international travel industry is developing most dynamically, and the demand for the services of cruise companies is growing faster than for all other tourism products. According to statistics, the majority of cruise sales (77%) are from residents of the US and Canada.

The whole truth about sea travel Tourists who have been on a cruise, as a rule, are divided into devoted fans of this type of vacation and those who, after the first trip, decide that they will never go on such a trip again. Indeed, sea cruises have both their advantages and disadvantages.
Among their indisputable advantages is the opportunity to visit several countries at once in one trip. The versatility of the holiday and the variety of experiences that the cruise promises become very attractive factors. Of course, staying in the cities during the cruise is short (usually the liner stays in the port during daylight hours), but even during this time you can see the main attractions. Finally, some tourists like the frequent change of impressions. The second advantage of cruises is respectability and exceptional comfort of rest. Cruise service is very different from hotel service. Perfect cleanliness and “marine” order reign on the liners: cabins are cleaned twice a day, and linen is changed every day. Hence an important feature - the class of cruise liners is always higher than hotels with the same number of stars. That is, four stars in the sea roughly correspond to five stars on earth.
What are the disadvantages of cruising? Its main disadvantage is that a tourist sees the sea or ocean every day, but cannot swim in it. The problem is partly solved by the presence of pools with sea water on the liner. To fully enjoy your vacation, travel agencies recommend combining a trip on a liner with a beach holiday in the country from which the cruise starts or ends (usually Spain, Italy, Malta).

If you buy a long cruise for 2-3 weeks, it is better to ask in advance where in the cities through which the route passes, there are city beaches and how to get to them.Difficulties during the cruise may arise due to tourists' lack of knowledge of a foreign language.
floating hotel
Tourists who decide to go on a cruise for the first time are primarily interested in the features of the trip itself: what is a liner, what entertainment is available on it? A cruise ship can be compared to a floating hotel. The ship has a traditional hotel infrastructure. The only difference is that the buildings of an ordinary hotel are scattered around the territory, and on the liner all the rooms are compactly distributed over the decks.
Every cruise ship has a lot to offer. Most ships have mini-golf courses, basketball and volleyball courts, sports and dance clubs, gyms, several swimming pools, spa centers, jacuzzis. At your service there are children's clubs, libraries, theaters and cinemas, duty-free shops, restaurants and bars. Nightlife on the cruise is also very diverse: captain's receptions, gala dinners, discos, casinos, European and Broadway shows.
Many people worry that they may feel like a closed space on a ship. But believe me, this is an illusion. The liner is so huge that during the trip you won’t even have time to get around it!
Since the ship is a floating hotel, a certain number of stars corresponds to it. “There is no written instruction on assigning stars to cruise liners in accordance with the presence of certain recreation and entertainment centers on them. - Therefore, it is sometimes very difficult to determine how a 4-star liner differs from a 5-star liner. Both ships have a classic set of infrastructure, and the service is equally good. The differences are more noticeable between 3 * ships and luxury liners.
Most of the liners, tours for which are sold by Russian companies, are of a very high class. It is necessary to take into account a purely psychological feature. If for the first time a person gets on a luxurious ship with the proper level of service, then later he is unlikely to agree to a less comfortable vacation.
The respectability of the ship is also evidenced by the number of passengers: compared to 3 * and 4 * liners, 6 * ships have fewer vacationers on the same infrastructure. Finally, a factor indicating high stardom is nutrition. More precisely, its diversity and the element of payment. As a rule, the choice of restaurants on economy class liners is not so wide, the menu does not differ in a particular breadth of choice, and alcoholic beverages are not included in the cost of meals. On a luxury ship, things are different. Guests can choose from a wide range of restaurants, meals and complimentary drinks. For example, on the Seven Seas Mariner, even expensive alcohol is included in the price of the tour: Hennessy cognac and French champagne.”
The price of pleasure
There is an opinion that a cruise is an expensive trip that only wealthy people can afford. In fact, the prices for cruise tours are very different: from quite economical (from $650-680 for a weekly tour of the Mediterranean on a 3 or 4-star liner) to expensive ($4-6 thousand) and fabulously expensive (round-the-world cruises belong to this category). duration from 70 to 110 days and cost $50-60 thousand).

A number of factors affect the price of a cruise. First of all, it is the duration of the trip and the seasonality of the cruise. So, prices in the high season in July-August will be much higher than the cost of spring and autumn tours. The following factors are the exoticism and richness of the route. The cheapest are cruises in the Mediterranean, and cruises in the Atlantic and Indian oceans are traditionally considered expensive.
The price of the tour is also affected by the class of the ship and the type of cabin. On any liner (with the exception of some luxury ships) there are rooms of various cost and comfort. The cheapest are cabins without a window, with artificial lighting. They are not very presentable, but quite comfortable. Considering that ships have a lot of recreational areas, and passengers spend little time in cabins, this option is ideal for those who want to save money. Not very expensive and cabins with limited views: part of the window is blocked by lifeboats and boats. Next come cabins with a window and cabins with a balcony.
They are very different from the two previous types and are much more expensive. Finally, the most expensive are all kinds of suites. Their cost can be several times higher than the price of cabins without a window and with a limited view. Note that the interior decoration and area of the cabins practically do not differ from the "content" of a regular hotel room: similar beds, wardrobes, showers or bathrooms.
Finally, the last factor influencing the price of a cruise is the liner's mooring place. Usually ships moor in the port, but they can stand in the roadstead. In the latter case, the cruise company saves significantly, and this circumstance affects the price of the cruise itself. However, parking on the roads is not very convenient for travelers. After all, in order to get ashore, you have to wait until the ship's crew lowers the boats into the water, which takes a lot of time. Moreover, tourists of advanced age are unlikely to be able to afford such a crossing.

Vacation on a cruise ship

You can see the prices and rating of cruises on the website cruisecritic .
The luxury of the interiors is the main shock of the first hours of the cruise. All these Swarovski grand pianos, Swarovski steps, elevators, reflections, the diversity of bar interiors... I advise you to take a map of the liner at the reception or in the cabin and spend time navigating the rough Swarovski terrain. This will definitely come in handy in the future. Accommodation. We had a cabin with a balcony on deck 9 (price category 7). Don't be surprised, category and deck number don't match. Those who took the 13th deck (11th category of price) I feel a little sorry for. The fact is that the 14th deck seriously hangs over the 13th, forming, as it were, a long visor, skillfully covering the sky. Therefore, I still consider that we were very lucky with the deck level and number.

Nutrition. Well, everything is simple. If you want culinary troubles and lose weight - a la carte restaurants are your choice. If you want something simple and Swedish: you are on the 14th deck in the huge Boro-Boro. By the way, many do not go deep, but in vain. Behind Boro, there is a Pago Pago restaurant, it is absolutely the same as Boro, only you can sit on the stern and look at the outgoing sea from the 14th deck. I don't know about the rest, but we both had breakfast and lunch in Boro and Pago because of the amazing panoramic views that floor-to-ceiling windows form. Meeting the sunrise at breakfast is something! For dinner, everyone goes according to the places that are written in the map.The dinner menu is, um, very interesting. During the whole week of sailing, we had a strong feeling that the length of the name is inversely proportional to the number on the plate. The name of one dish can take three lines, and when it is brought, the Russian guy needs five times as much to eat. But no one bothers if you order the same thing again. The menu is varied, you can fantasize and experiment. All food is really free. With the exception of individual paid desserts on the menu.
The drinks. Here. As promised: this is a separate issue. ALL water brought by waiters - only paid. Even if at breakfast you suddenly took a glass of juice that was brought to you, and you poured another one for yourself from the cooler yourself, you will have to pay for the one that you brought. Therefore, advice - we go for water and juice ourselves)). This does not apply to tea and coffee brought to you - they are free in any case. Alcoholic drinks are paid. Price level (rounded up) a liter bottle of water 2 euros, wine 15-20 euros, a cocktail - 13-15 euros, etc. At dinner, there is no way to bring anything anywhere, so you have to buy drinks.
Tours. We corresponded with local guides, and, if inexpensive, took a tour from them in Russian. (I can advise Inna Revenchuk in Palermo - the perfect guide, inpirro@gmail.com) Prices for excursions on the ship in English are from 40 to 80 euros per person. Russian groups charge even more. Therefore, we did not bother: when going ashore, we took a taxi (15-20 euros) to the center and walked using maps downloaded from the Internet.
The list of sights was taken from there (Google will help us all). Perhaps we did not know the specific year of construction of some temple, but we were free and did not bathe in buses, waiting for latecomers. Excursions organized by the MSC itself cause a lot of criticism. At least ours, who traveled, were terribly unhappy. The overall feeling of the cruise is a fairy tale. Everything is absolute. From the sea view from the balcony to enjoying the pianist playing the piano in the atrium. The perfect ship. The ideal cabin. Perfect vacation. Memories for a lifetime. If there was an opportunity to experience it again - we would go without hesitation!

WHERE TO GO TO HOLIDAY IN MAY?

May 01, 2022
May is the very month when we stop thinking about work. The sun is warming, the calendar is full of weekends, someone goes to nature for barbecues, and someone is already actively rotating the globe and looking for where to go on vacation. The variety of choice is very pleasing, you can choose a beach holiday by the seas and oceans, sightseeing tours in Europe, or travel to exotic islands. In May, there is still no that sweltering heat, a comfortable temperature, the sea is warming up and the season is already starting in most resorts, nevertheless, the prices for holidays in May are not so bite.

Perhaps May is one of the best months to visit European cities. You can forget about outerwear, dress boldly in summer and take a walk along La Rambla in Barcelona, take a picture in front of the Notre Dame Cathedral in Paris, see with your own eyes how the famous Cannes Film Festival takes place and watch that indescribable riot of colors in the Royal Park of Flowers in the Netherlands, where in early May, thousands of tulips are still in bloom.

Before the summer heat comes to Turkey, you have a great chance to go to sunny Istanbul - a city where all the best of European and Eastern culture is collected. The temperature in May is already comfortable for walking. You can walk through the Grand Bazar, see the famous Blue Mosque, or visit the modern art gallery, and in the evening go to one of the many nightclubs. Istanbul is a city of contrasts. Another interesting region worth seeing in May is Cappadocia. This unique place is a UNESCO World Heritage Site, a hot air balloon flight over Cappadocia will be remembered for a lifetime.

If after a long winter you still want to bask on the beach and splash in the sea, choose the Mediterranean coast: Antalya, Kemer, Side, Alanya are already waiting for their tourists in May. The air temperature during the day rises to +26 degrees, you definitely won’t stay without a tan, and the water in the Mediterranean Sea is not so warm yet - about + 22 degrees, so swimming is refreshing. Do not forget that the prices for holidays in May are very affordable, because this is the very beginning of the season on the coast and the time of big discounts.
When the Greek mainland is still cool for swimming, the air and sea temperatures on several Greek islands are already quite comfortable for relaxing. Crete and Rhodes are the best choice for holidays in May. These are the southernmost and warmest among all the Greek islands. Already in early May, the water off the coast of Crete warms up to 24 degrees, the sun warms like summer, nature blooms with bright colors, exotic fruits sing, it's time to see the famous Knossos Palace or stroll through the old town in Chania, and for dessert - swimming on the azure beaches islands.
The island of Rhodes is an excellent choice for a holiday at the end of May, it has a warm, mild climate, it rarely rains, you can see many interesting places with ancient architecture - the Rhodes fortress, the Lindos acropolis, try delicious national Greek cuisine, or just lie on the white sand near the Aegean seas.

Morocco
This sultry country with a unique oriental culture, surrounded by the Atlantic Ocean, the Mediterranean Sea and the endless Sahara desert is already waiting for its tourists in May. The medinas of the ancient capital of Fes, Marrakech with its heart - the “Jemma-El-Fna” square, the royal stables of Rua and the gardens of the imperial city of Meknes, the pearl of Casablanca - the Hassan mosque - the cultural heritage of the kingdom of Morocco is truly impressive.
Beach lovers will appreciate Agadir - the famous resort of Morocco on the Atlantic Ocean with its golden beaches and high-level hotels. The air temperature in May already reaches +27 degrees, and the ocean warms up to +22.
Bali
On the paradise island of Bali, the weather in May is conducive to relaxation - the rainy season has already ended, the air and water temperature in the ocean is +27 degrees, the tourist season can be considered open. Bali is an island of two oceans - the Pacific and the Indian. It is so diverse that everyone will find something to their liking: ancient Buddhist temples, jungle safaris, tropical national reserves, snow-white beaches, volcanoes, surfing, the famous Balinese massage or noisy discos. The island has both fashionable resorts, like Nusa Dua, and more affordable Ubud, Amed and Lovina, or party Kuta and Seminyak. Recreation is equally beautiful in any part of the island; it is not for nothing that this is a favorite place for all newlyweds.

Mediterranean and Caribbean cruises

April 13, 2022

about cruises in the Mediterranean and the Caribbean with a child

You can see the prices and rating of cruises on the website cruisecritic .

I used to think that only very wealthy people could afford to travel on a huge snow-white liner. This myth was dispelled when, on a travel forum, I accidentally saw a sale of Caribbean cruises: $ 200 for a week tour on a five-star ship! I had a shock in the good sense of the word, and I began to study the websites of cruise companies for a long time and painstakingly. It turned out that a cruise can be bought really inexpensively (including air tickets, the rest will be comparable to a trip, say, to Thailand or Western Europe). As a result, we have already gone on a cruise twice: in the Mediterranean in 2011.
cruises

There is an opinion that cruises are boring and such a vacation is more suitable for pensioners. Yes, there are a lot of elderly people on the liners. Moreover, the higher the status of the ship, the more elderly people. This is because it is very convenient to relax on a cruise. Almost every day you find yourself in a new place, but you don’t have to go anywhere, fly, drag a suitcase, plan a route and spend time moving. Loaded things once, settled down and that's it! This is especially important when traveling with a small child or in the last months of pregnancy.

If you want - walk, go sightseeing, go to the beach, if you don't want - stay on the ship, swim in the pool, sunbathe, sleep, sit in a restaurant. A cruise can be a very dynamic holiday, or it can become a complete relaxation. It all depends on the wishes of the guests. When I talk about cruises, I get asked two questions all the time.

1. Does the ship rock? On modern liners, such powerful stabilizers are now installed that pitching is not felt at all. At some point, you generally begin to forget that you are at sea. It seems that this is an ordinary hotel somewhere on the coast. We felt slight hints of pitching when we went to the Caribbean Sea through the Atlantic Ocean. But it was only swaying when we did not experience any negative emotions, and the child slept better than usual.

2. Is there any discomfort from the fact that there are about 2000-3000 passengers and about the same number of attendants on the ship at the same time? No. The ship is huge, and everything is so perfectly organized that we have never seen pandemonium. There is always a free table in the restaurant, you can always swim in the pool, go to the evening show, there are never queues for elevators and so on. Even when the liner berths in a new port, you can always leave freely, and even enter later. In Egyptian hotels there is more pandemonium.

How to buy a cruise ticket? Cruises are sold by USA travel agencies, but comparing prices, I saw that the “cheat” from the official price of the cruise company is 50-100%. Yes, the cost of the tour includes the services of a Russian-speaking guide, but is it worth paying so much for an interpreter? The minimum knowledge of English is quite enough to buy a cruise, and, already being on the ship, to navigate and understand everything. Everything is organized so simply and clearly that even with a couple of dozen English words you can safely travel.

The ticket price depends on the duration of the cruise and the type of cabin. The cheapest is internal, without a window. The most expensive is a penthouse with several rooms. Both times we took the middle option - a cabin suite with a balcony. With a child, this is especially convenient, because when the child is sleeping, you can safely chat on the balcony, looking at the sea, without fear of waking him up. The sites, as a rule, indicate the cost of the trip per person based on double occupancy. Children are not always free! You have to look at some of the specials. For example, I bought under the promotion “the third person in the cabin is free”, so even if an adult was traveling with the child, he would also be free.

What to do on board a cruise ship? The liner has a concert hall with such equipment that will give odds to most St. Petersburg halls. There are real Broadway shows, concerts, dance performances twice a day, at eight and ten in the evening, so my husband and I managed to watch the show in turn (Alice did not appreciate the theater). There is a library with books in different languages, including Russian; game room with checkers, chess, dominoes and puzzles. There is a real casino, a jogging track, a basketball court, a cinema, several shops, a beauty salon and a SPA. And, of course, pools with sun loungers and many viewing platforms where you can sit and admire the sea, sunset and even dolphins.

cruise time

April 12, 2022
Traveling on cruise ships every year is becoming more and more popular not only all over the world, but also in Ukraine. Cruise companies offer more and more interesting routes. But like any tourist product, cruises have their own seasonality. So, we propose today to determine the best time for a sea voyage. To do this, it is important to know the sailing region, because each of them has a high season and low dates when liners are not represented in the region, due to the change of seasons they change the sailing region. Also, the best time for a cruise is determined by the climate of a particular region, the likelihood of storms, excursion opportunities.
Sea cruises are an unforgettable experience, a white liner, comfort and the opportunity to visit several countries in a short period of time. Modern liners are five-star hotels on the water, on board of which you will plunge into the atmosphere of excellent service, high-class cuisine, various entertainments, while being close to the mighty sea element. Cruises are a very profitable type of vacation, they are organized according to the "All Inclusive" system, which means that meals and entertainment on board (excluding alcoholic drinks and procedures in the SPA complex) are included in the tour price.
The Mediterranean is one of the most popular destinations for summer holidays. Greece, Italy, Turkey, French Riviera, Monaco, Spain - all these countries have access to the Mediterranean Sea. It is here that a huge number of marinas are concentrated. The yachting infrastructure in Europe is second to none. Therefore, if you crave new experiences, be sure to take a trip on a yacht in the Mediterranean. This area covers a large number of countries, cultures and landscapes. You can rent a yacht with a professional skipper or buy a ready-made tour - it all depends on your capabilities and preferences.
Bohemian French Riviera

Bohemian French Riviera
Azure water, stunning architecture and luxurious villas on the coast - all this is about the French Riviera. Here are the real pearls for a holiday on a yacht: Saint-Tropez, Cannes, Nice, Antibes. These cities are associated with luxury, pleasure and exclusivity. Traveling through the sea is the best way to enjoy the picturesque landscapes and the wide range of entertainment on offer. The landscape of the Côte d'Azur consists of many bays where you can anchor. In these places, unique islands with almost untouched nature have been preserved. One of the largest and most beautiful is the Ile de Porquerolles.
The best time to sail on the French Riviera The Côte d'Azur has a typical Mediterranean climate. The high season lasts from late April to early October. Summer here is hot and dry, the maximum temperature (+35°C) is observed in July and August. Winds in the French Riviera during the summer are usually weak. However, sometimes, for 1-2 days, a strong northwestern mistral blows.

Colorful routes of Italy
Italy is a fabulous Mediterranean state with a rich history, culture, stunning nature and hot temperament. The country is located on the Apennine Peninsula, and its coastline goes directly to four seas: the Adriatic, Tyrrhenian, Ionian and Ligurian, which are part of the Mediterranean. One of the best ways to enjoy the beauty of this country is to go on a yacht cruise.
Yacht routes in Italy may include the Amalfi Coast, Naples, Portofino, Sardinia, Capri, Sicily, Venice, the Tuscan archipelago. During the trip you will enjoy the crystal clear sea and the untouched landscapes of the Aeolian Islands, the rocky coasts of the Gulf of Naples, the emerald green of the Costa Smeralda. The best time for yacht tours in Italy Continental, alpine, oceanic and Mediterranean climates merge in this region, creating favorable conditions for sea voyages. The best time for a yachting holiday in Italy is from June to early September. The maximum air temperature in the high season reaches +31°C, and water - +26°C.

cruise for two

February 18, 2022

A small prefaceRecently, cruise vacations have become increasingly popular, and this is not surprising. The cruise provides an opportunity not only to have a great rest, constantly being in the fresh air, but also to get acquainted with interesting tourist sites and natural attractions. It can be considered as the most comfortable form of sightseeing tour. Formally, we can say that a cruise is a group excursion tour in which a ship is used as a means of transportation. In fact, this main feature leads to great differences between cruises and bus tours.

1. Sea cruises

• Movement along the tour route is carried out by sea on large cruise ships. Your ship is both a means of transportation and a hotel, so you don’t have to carry things along the route and move from hotel to hotel - this is very convenient.
• All transitions between ports are carried out in the evening and at night. You return from an excursion at the end of the day, have dinner, walk on the deck, breathe the sea air, visit bars, restaurants and show programs, go to bed, and wake up in the morning and find that you are already at the next point of your route and everything is ready for new ones. excursions. Thus, moving along the route is carried out without any effort and is almost invisible to you.
• The cost of a cruise is largely determined by the comfort and prestige of your ship (and cabin) and varies quite a lot. It should be noted that even not the largest cruise ships have a sufficient level of comfort and correspond to the level of 3-4 * hotels. At the same time, the cost of a weekly cruise on such a ship is quite comparable to the cost of staying in a hotel on the shore. • Meals on cruises are usually all-inclusive, excluding alcoholic beverages. In this regard, when mooring in ports, it makes sense to return to the ship at lunchtime to have a bite to eat and at the same time relax a bit.
• Usually the ship spends one or two days at sea during a cruise. On this day, you can sunbathe on the deck and swim in the deck pool. If you wish, you can sunbathe and swim at any free time.
cruise for two
• It is clear that your ship can stop only in fairly large ports. In this regard, you need to understand that only these port cities can be visited without additional efforts. To see the sights located far from the mooring ports, you must either participate in organized excursions or use public transport services yourself. Keep in mind that boarding the ship usually ends one hour before it leaves.
• When choosing a cruise, it is important to understand and interpret the indicated route well. To attract tourists, itineraries often indicate attractive cities that are not actually located directly on the sea (for example, Rome, Florence, Paris, etc.). To explore such cities, you need to order long excursions. Russian-language excursions (if possible) are ordered in advance when booking a tour. Already on the ship, you can sign up for a tour in a foreign language. All excursions are quite expensive, especially those ordered in Russian.
• In the evenings, there are usually shows on the ships, which for the most part are quite nice. Their visit is free, but it is good practice to order one or two alcoholic drinks (which, unfortunately, cost money) while viewing them.
• On cruises, it is customary to dress in evening wear towards the end of the day, and events such as the captain's dinner may have even stricter dress requirements. The severity of these requirements is very dependent on the class of your cruise ship. In any case, you will need to bring some extra clothing with you. Of course, you can try to ignore these requirements, but being a black sheep is not always pleasant.
• It is good practice to spend a week on the beach either before or after the cruise in an area close to the start or end of the cruise itinerary. Rest after the cruise is optimal, because during intensive excursions you can get a little tired, and a week of rest at the sea will be very useful.

2. River cruises

River cruises are in many ways similar to sea cruises, but they provide the opportunity to make excursions in the inland territories of countries and at the same time have several significant differences: • River cruise ships are quite small, which is due to the size of the rivers and the low height of the bridges under which you have to swim. In this regard, they do not have premises for holding shows and accommodating a large number of various bars and restaurants.

• The mode of passing the route is noticeably different. At night, the ship mainly stays in ports, and the passage of the route is carried out for the most part during daylight hours. This is due to the fact that the observation of the coast, with the cities and natural attractions located on them, is one of the main components of the excursion program itself and is a great pleasure.
• Since usually the zone of excursion interest is directly the area of the ship's parking, there is no urgent need to purchase centralized excursions, and sightseeing can be done independently on the basis of pre-stored guidebooks.

travel by sea

about the mediterranean cruise

Going on vacation, we opted for a Mediterranean cruise. In part, our choice was this, because my husband went to sea for 10 years before and wanted to feel like a passenger on a luxury liner. Plus, a good promotion turned up on the MSC Splendida liner. We were very glad that our journey began with the eternal city of Rome, which you need to get to at least once in your life! From the trip, first of all, we expected rest. And I'll tell you that on the liner it's still a vacation! During the day you go sightseeing, in the evening and at night you have fun in the theater, bar and with animators. Secondly, I wanted to visit a cruise ship for the first time. This is a pool, a buffet, a restaurant and passengers in elegant dresses and suits, every evening a chic performance in the theater and constant luxury around! We got from Fiumicino airport to Rome by bus, which stops at Roma Termini station. Our hotel was located almost near the station, where we got on foot from the bus stop. Check-in to the hotel went quickly, without delays and complaints. I have already been to Italy several times and noticed that breakfast is usually early and not heavy. But regardless, delicious! There are absolutely no problems with food on the liner. If you want, go to a restaurant, the truth is there on time, if you want - to a buffet, where nothing is limited by time, as well as the amount of food on your plate. During the week on the cruise, we tried everything!

Rich Mediterranean cruise program

The service during the cruise was great! The cabin was always tidy, clean and tidy. In general, we have long wanted to go on a sea cruise. Relaxing in a huge five-star hotel with full board, which also moves - what could be better? In each of the ports, we tried to walk as much as possible on our own. In Rome, we were insanely impressed by the Trevi Fountain. Unfortunately, we did not get to the Vatican, as it was scheduled for the return trip, and the liner was delayed, as I described earlier. In Genoa we really liked the Galata Museum and the submarine nearby. In Marseille, the weather let us down - there was just a crazy wind and it was not possible to walk in such weather for a long time. Most of all I remember visiting the Cathedral of Our Lady. In Barcelona, we walked along the main street and devoted a lot of time to La Sagrada Familia. We got to the local market - it's very interesting there! In Tunisia, it was interesting in a different way, after all, a different culture, different sensations. We ended up in the town of Sadi Bou Said, where there are beautiful white and blue houses and a continuous bazaar along the streets. We got to the ruins of Carthage, it's really not as interesting there as in the ruins of Rome.
We went on a cruise in winter, +12 degrees and the sun against -20 and ice still wins in any case. In Tunisia, in general, it was almost +18. A breath of summer in mid-January! Overall, we enjoyed the cruise. Moving between ports is very comfortable and exciting. The only disadvantage seemed to us to be the limited time spent in each port, but after all, this happens every time you go on vacation - you want to spend more and more time in an interesting place. But most of all I remember Barcelona! We want to go back there again!
I want to say that if you have children, then this type of trip is definitely for you! We looked at passengers with children - insanely convenient. They play with animators, everywhere there is an opportunity to drive a stroller or change a diaper. And be sure to take a few days on top before or after the cruise to see the city where you originally arrive. You will get double the pleasure! I hope you enjoyed my review of the Mediterranean cruise. I recommend to go on a Mediterranean cruise to all friends and acquaintances!

How to travel on foot

February 16, 2022

 How best to route

Keep in mind that the average walking speed is 4-6 km per hour. Before planning a trip for a longer route, determine your walking speed, as well as assess your fitness. Never go hiking in new and unworn shoes, it is better to put on old boots. As much as you can - walk along the seashore with bare feet. This is useful. If you plan a long hike in one direction and the direction is not so important, go "downwind". So save your energy and go much more.

Don't go back the same way.
Walking the other way, you will see and learn much more.
Don't sleep long in the summer.
The best time to hike is at sunrise, when the air is clean and fresh and overflowing with bird calls. And it's not so hot, and it's easier to walk.
Rest during the day, and continue your journey in the evening.
Walk at a goose step along narrow paths and off-road. If you can't feel yourself in a goose-skin, go like wolves - trail after trail.
So you leave fewer traces in nature.
travel foot

What to take with you

The season doesn't matter when it comes to hiking.
Just the right clothes and the desire to get out of the house.
Even in the Latvian gray autumn and endless winter, hiking will be a better alternative than many other everyday things.
Do not take a heavy bag filled with groceries and carbonated drinks with you. It is better to shop in local shops or from local farmers.
A heavy backpack will spoil the mood and will not allow you to go far.
Arrange with the owner of the rural house or with friends to take your bag to your destination.
Leave your tent, sleeping bag and warm night clothes at home.
Calculate how much it all weighs.
Make the most of local accommodations.
However, if you sleep in a tent, then remember that this is a specially protected natural area, and you can only stay overnight in specially designated places. If there is no such place, talk to the local owner to allow you to set up your tent in his meadow.
Buy the offered products from him.
For a half-day or full-day hike, be sure to bring a waterproof jacket, a pair of dry socks, a map of the area, a phone, a small bottle of water and food at a time in a small bag so that your stomach does not rebel.
Sometimes a compass is also useful. When traveling in a large group, honestly divide the joint things equally, depending on the carrying capacity and portability of each. Review the list of things from the previous trip so that nothing is forgotten.
Don't have such a list? Do it, because next time you won't have to puzzle over what to bring with you.

Where to go for advice

Before you go hiking, seek advice from local experts. If you do not see a local connoisseur, ask the seller. They are usually well aware of what is happening in the area. If you are interested in local history and the history of some object, visit the village library. Librarians are usually local enthusiasts who know a lot about what to say. Always greet the person walking towards you. A village is not a city where they do not know each other and pass by without saying hello!

Travel safety

If you are walking along a highway, keep to the side of the road and walk towards traffic. If you are walking in a group, follow one after the other, not in a chaotic crowd all the way Those territories where private property is "sacred and inviolable" are best avoided. In these cases, as a rule, you will not prove your case, but at best spoil your mood. Never turn your back on a threatening and angry dog. Cover yourself with a bag or some other large object. Wait for the moment and evaluate the plan for further action. You can move freely in state and local government forests, observe nature, pick mushrooms, berries and nuts.
Move quietly in natural areas and remember that in Latvia forest animals (normal) do not attack humans. However, it is better not to climb a dormant elk. A disturbed boar will usually startle with an angry grunt and rush off in the opposite direction. Ein aus dem Schlaf gestörtes Wildschwein wird auch nur böse grunzen und kurz entgegen rennen. If the behavior of a wild or domestic animal seems strange, it is best to bypass it. Rabid animals are very dangerous to people and animals, so report it to your local authorities!

How to travel the world almost for free

travel free

If you are not rich, you have an average salary, but you really want to travel, I see 3 options:
1.Accumulate.
2.To work remotely.
3.Learn to travel for free or almost for free.
This article will talk about point 1 (in short), and the main focus will be on point 3. Remote work requires at least a separate article, although you can write a whole book. The main thing you need to understand is that you don't have to be rich to travel. There are other possibilities as well.
About money To go on my first trip, I saved up. I simply put aside a certain amount after receiving each salary, I lived without frills on the remaining money. No going to the cinema - you can watch at home, no fitness club - you also have dumbbells at home, practically no cafes - I know how to cook, almost no new clothes, only if I really feel like it. It wasn't easy, but it wasn't hard either. I was warmed by a dream, so I could be patient. I made travel a priority, and after getting paid, I saved for my dream first.
This is a very important point, because you will not be able to save the required amount of money if you do not make your goal a priority, giving up various pleasant little things every day in favor of a dream. All that year I did not have enough money for new clothes and gadgets, going to the cinema and cafes, taxis, etc. because at the beginning of the month I put aside most of my salary and lived on the rest of the money. If you are also going to save and need advice, let me know in the comments. Then I will write a detailed article on accumulation and share my experience more fully. In the process of accumulation, you will have to deal with your budget. If you want to travel the world on your own, the ability to keep track of income and expenses is paramount. Without it, there is simply no way, it is better to get used to it in advance.
If you want to travel not only in Russia, it is advisable to know English at least at a basic level. There are many free lessons and courses on the Internet, so if you still don’t know English, you didn’t really need it. Even if you are going to travel by free methods, I think it is the height of stupidity not to save at least $ 1,000 just in case. If you have not known Zen, this will save you a lot of nerves. You want to travel, not survive.

How to spend the night for free in any country

To avoid paying rent, stay with the locals. Especially for this purpose, there are many services that bring together travelers and hospitable people. Using these sites, you will never pay for housing in other countries.
Sometimes you will be given a separate room, sometimes a free sofa, maybe even an air mattress. You do not have to pay for housing, but there is one feature - you should not abuse hospitality. You can live for free, but not for long. Usually no more than a week and you need to look for a new home. Fortunately, there are plenty of couchsurfers around the world, even in Russia.
Another feature is that you will save money on the roof over your head, but in Couchsurfing it is customary to treat the host, take them to a cafe or buy food and cook some kind of Russian dish. The CS has a strong emphasis on cultural exchange. The history of your travels will be expected from you, often with beer or other strong drinks. So free accommodation for tourists turns into a small drinking bout.

Volunteer programs for free travel

At this point, there will be no large volunteer programs to rescue sea turtles or anything else where you will have to shell out $ 200 for participation. I have a friend who volunteered in Bali, paid to work for free. I don't mind, but there are other options. Help with the work of local residents, for example. If you are ready to work 4 hours a day for food and a roof over your head, then this option will suit you.

Exchange travel – Home Exchange

Have you ever watched the comedy "The Vacation"? It was filmed just about the phenomenon, which in English is called "house swap" or the exchange of houses. Recently, the idea of sharing has become popular in the west. She came to us in the form of carsharing. The essence of the idea is simple - you register on a specially trained site and look for a partner who would like to exchange housing with you for a while. You live with him, and he with you. Everything is wonderful.

How to save even more

I think the housing issue is closed. Now you know how to live in another country for free. It remains to close the issues with transport, excursions and meals.
Hitch-hiking
A free way to move around the world with the help of passing cars. This phenomenon is popular and relatively safe in civilized countries: America, Europe, Australia, New Zealand and even in Russia.

Cook your own food

The best way to save money when traveling is to cook yourself. I was spending about $50 on food a week while in Stockholm. Compare with the average check of $15 for a dish in a cafe or restaurant. This simple rule saved me $150. Many hostels, guesthouses, campuses and couchsurfing will provide you with a kitchen. No kitchen? Prepare sandwiches. You don't have to have a stove to be full.
It is not necessary to constantly go to restaurants if you are traveling. Your trip to Paris won't get any worse if you decide to cook for yourself for the day. There is no need to spend a lot of money in catering. The recipe for low-cost travel comes down to 3 ingredients: an inexpensive way to get around, a place to stay and save on food. All this will turn your travel dream into reality.

Junk food or traveling on a minimal budget

February 14, 2022
No wonder they say that if a person really wants something, he will do everything for this. The rest of the options are just excuses. Nowadays, going on a trip without having the proper funds is quite realistic. Moreover, there are unexpected life hacks on how to survive. And sometimes survive with special comfort in the most expensive countries in the world.Today we decided to dwell on a few of them and get your opinion on this matter. After all, stereotypes in our minds sometimes close in front of us the very doors behind which there is a dream.
junk food travel

So, how can you save on trips without having money or counting on minimal costs. The first rule of budget travelers is to prepare in advance. In one of the articles we wrote about travel on credit. In this case, special preparation is not necessary, but if not immediately, but the funds will be spent. Therefore, you should pay attention to the resources where information is provided on preferential flights. You may have to pay some amount here. To save time and find a flight that will cost you several times cheaper. However, there are a number of bloggers and travel enthusiasts who share their experiences for a regular subscription or repost.
In addition to good advice from experienced people, you can save a certain amount if you decide to travel in a rented car. Of course, car rental is not cheap, and you can hitchhike to travel long distances. But for those who cannot deny themselves independence, you can use the car rental aggregator. This will reduce the price by thirty forty percent, as well as purchase profitable insurance that will take care of the safety of you and your wallet in the event of an accident. By the way, earlier booking a car will allow you to choose the desired car.

Try to avoid additional paid options by downloading maps of the area in advance.

And having planned a trip and knowing the distances covered, it will be easier for you to decide on the choice of cars. If you need to travel far, then it is better to take a car with the condition of unlimited mileage, since surcharges for kilometers in excess of the daily limit can make travel much more expensive. We also recommend that you familiarize yourself with the rental rules and traffic rules of the country you are visiting. For fines in their size can quickly nullify your savings. No matter how trite it may sound, but knowledge in this case will help you a lot.

In a bit of contrast, after the desire to save on car rentals, we turn to the global savings on food on a trip.

However, food makes up a huge percentage of the cost of any trip. Where it is impossible to take enough food with you, the method chosen by the freegans has become popular. Namely, food from the garbage. Of course, it is difficult for the Russian contingent to adequately perceive this way of eating. Since our dumps are somewhat different from foreign ones. But the very possibility of not buying food on a trip will save you a lot of money. For those who dare to live in another country, you can find detailed instructions on where you can and where you do not need to take food in different countries. It should be mentioned that the delay, including for several hours or goods with a broken wrapper, are disposed of in special packaging and placed in clean plastic bags. Sometimes displayed in boxes. So, with proper preparation, you will already know where, how and when to get the food you need. You can even create a menu.
If you still disdain to eat from the garbage, then on the same resources you can find out where in the backyard of restaurants you can talk with chefs and ask for food from them. And do not forget about the discount on cooking in the evening. For those who prefer hostels and camps to hotels, there is an option to get "free food". This is what previous travelers did not have time or did not want to eat. For the most part, these are pasta and long-term stored products. What you usually take with you on a trip. Here you can leave your surplus, if any.

Another point of a budget trip is the use of services that provide cashback.

It's nice when a certain percentage of the funds used will return. Let's go over other points that allow you to save money. This is using free wifi. Now almost everywhere there is this opportunity. Hotels, cafes, shopping centers and other public places provide this service. A local SIM card is often more profitable than universal roaming, and a tourist card, sometimes free, will give good discounts. For excursions, too, it is not always necessary to pay. Try looking for free options. Often there are sightseeing tours for transit passengers. Therefore, for sociable travelers, it is worth asking about this guest network. This is a real opportunity to make your dream come true for less money. And going on a trip for a long time, you can stay at the hotel for a couple of days in order to find cheaper accommodation on the spot. Find out about discounts for long stays - since you have decided to stay for more days, why not pay less for it. Many recommend in this case to take apartments.
Returning to the implementation of their own desires, we can summarize. The impossible may well become reality. If you approach the realization of the aspiration wisely and use the amazing amount of information available in our time. Your dreams are in your hands. As well as the safety of your funds. Save what you can just by spending a little time.

How to get free products in Europe?

February 14, 2022
I have already raised the issue of food while traveling and that this item always takes up a large part of the expenses. On a trip to Scandinavia, spending on food amounted to the same amount as for an overnight stay. At the same time, for the first ten days, I lived exclusively on cereals for breakfast, muesli bars for lunch, and canned food for dinner. On any trip, the most economical option is to buy food in stores and then cook them in a hostel or on a burner. But I also heard about cases with free delivery of food. From discarded by expiration date and removed from garbage cans near supermarkets, to charitable organizations.
free food travel

In a hostel in Oslo in the same room with me was a Russian man Igor, who went to Norway to work. In order to somehow adapt to the difficult conditions in the new environment in one of the most expensive countries in the world, he tries to look for various ways of social assistance from charitable organizations. He was just about to visit one of these offices the next day, and I immediately agreed to keep him company.According to him, only a passport was needed with him. I did not have any urgent need for humanitarian assistance, as I call it, but curiosity and new experience made me go without hesitation. At the entrance, we were asked if we were the first time, and after that we took a ticket from the electronic queue machine. At that time we were the only visitors. We were asked to wait, and we, not embarrassed at all, began to argue in a loud voice how ethical it is in our situation to take away food, perhaps from very poor people who really need it. Then a girl came up to us and in pure Russian invited us to follow her.
Showing our ordinary passports, we were told that they did not provide assistance to tourists and shrugged. But we were able to easily convince that the prices in Norway are terrible, I generally travel by motorcycle and my food supplies have already come to an end, and Igor lives here and is trying to find a job, which is actually a big problem. Then the girl agreed to just give me one-time products, specifying that she would not give perishable ones, since I was on a motorcycle. And Igor wrote in a journal and promised support in the future, not only with products. In general, according to the passport, products can be received once a month. We spent almost half an hour in communication with the girl, and during this time people came, received food and left. Among them were a young girl, and a guy of about thirty, and a granny.Igor, like everyone else, was given two bags of food, and I was given one. By that time, thermoses with tea / coffee and buns were still put up in the lobby. In Norway, one such bun as on a tray costs 15-20 kroons in a regular supermarket. That is about 150 rubles for our money. So we also had breakfast.Such an organization is not alone, and Igor was going to go intelligence then to others. You can also find clothes and household appliances. He also talked about cases when he was walking down the street, and food was handed out there just like that. Perhaps this is due to the fact that at first glance there are more refugees in the city than indigenous people, otherwise for whom are these products distributed? To some extent, this looks unusual, but there are such organizations in Russia, so it would be strange to be surprised at such a social benefit, but in any case, it is much more developed there.
At first, I was so excited about free products that I was going to do it all the way down the road. The girl even looked at the address of the Salvation Army office in Stockholm, and Igor advised that next time he should speak less, tell stories that I was looking for a job and in no case say that I am a simple tourist, but it’s better to pretend to be dumb or say, that my native language is Kabardino-Bulgarian :)
However, I no longer went to the offices of this organization and did not deceive anyone. Some friends have generally condemned me, saying that I take food from the poor, although I do not think so. But in any case, this is a good example of the fact that when you find yourself in a difficult situation abroad and even in Russia, there is a place where you can turn, where people can help at the first stage and even just give food.

If you are going to cook a hearty snack for a child on the road, it is better to use recipes from websites. It is desirable to take with you only useful simple products.
Have no idea what food to take on the bus? It is advisable to choose light foods, as they do not cause digestive problems. In such situations, fruits and vegetables are perfect. It is worth choosing options where the peel is dense, for example, bananas, pears, apples, cucumbers. In addition, you can take good dried fruits, nuts. In addition, boiled eggs are useful, but it is important to boil them hard-boiled, they were with a whole shell. As for bread, it is recommended to replace it with crackers, bread with bran. Route from Las Vegas by car

The Las Vegas Utah Parks Route is a five-day circular drive northeast of Vegas through Nevada and Utah. The trip program includes visits to the National Parks - Zion, Bryce, Arches, Canyonlands and Capitol Reef, as well as Dead Horse Point State Parks, Goblin Valley and Red Canyon.

Traveling along this route by car on your own, you will see the most important and interesting things in Utah: the best sunsets and sunrises, natural arches and hoods, high cliffs and deep canyons, take many beautiful photos and stay with unforgettable impressions from a trip to the southwestern United States .

When is the best time to go It is best to plan a trip from Las Vegas to national parks in the spring (April, May) or autumn (October, November) months. At this time of the year, it is not very hot during the day, and there are not as many tourists in the parks as in summer. You can also go in winter, for example on New Year's Eve. At the same time, in the mornings in parks located at an altitude above 2000 meters (Bryce, Canyonlands) it can be quite cool, so I recommend taking warm clothes with you.

Utah state parks

We have traveled extensively in the US and seen the best parks along this route and we really liked them. So we can recommend this Canyon Country route to anyone who wants to see the most beautiful natural sights in the US Southwest and visit the extraordinarily picturesque parks of Utah.
Why are Utah's parks interesting? Firstly, we have already visited as many as 53 national parks in the USA, and still we think that Utah parks are the most delicious and unusual thing to eat in the States, especially for the first acquaintance with the nature of America. Secondly, there are other special parks in the USA, such as Yosemite in California or the Grand Canyon in Arizona, which can compete with them in beauty, but Utah's parks still win in fantastic and unusual. Scenic views evoke emotions that overflow!

5 travel apps for travelers on a budget

If you ever get the chance, explore the world without plans. When you return, you will no longer be the same. Jack Kerouac's book On the Road captures the spirit of spontaneous travel—going where you like, when you like, and experiencing the world first hand. Exploring the globe can be liberating, character-building, and a fascinating world. Even more surprising: Today's traveler doesn't need to be incredibly wealthy to explore just about any country on Earth. However, traveling the world isn't free, so unless you're rich regardless, you'll need to shell out a penny or two on those trips abroad. But you have a tool that Kerouac never dreamed of: your mobile device. Whether it's a smartphone or tablet, connecting with friends, family, and apps can save you a lot of money. Let's take a look at five budget-stretching apps you should always take with you when you travel.

1.Good translator
2.Communication connection
3.Asylum selector
4.WiFi Master
5.Multifunctional travel planning tool

Few things can make you feel more helpless in a foreign country than the inability to communicate. Improvised sign language only for you. Most language translation apps are much cheaper than printed phrasebooks and usually contain much more information. Each Lonely Planet phrasebook app is for one language and only costs $6. These handy tools draw on Lonely Planet's rich experience in the global travel market. Taking the time to memorize a few phrases will likely earn you points among the locals. For a cheaper app that translates voice to voice (you speak one language and it repeats itself in another), iTranslate is your best bet. If you don't mind seeing ads, iTranslate language titles are free, or you can upgrade to an ad-free version for $1-$2. Jibbigo is another very highly rated translator, but it will cost you around $30 per language - not exactly budget-friendly, especially if you need multiple languages.Even if you use translators on the fly, you will still be good at remembering some important phrases. Considering how unstable some of the translation apps are, we know how to say "Sorry, I didn't mean to say that!" It can be useful.

The most delicious trip in 2021: the main gastronomic region of Europe has been identified

They became Slovenia. The country received this title for its gastronomic opportunities and the development of an environmentally friendly approach to life, according to the Subtleties of Tourism portal. The culinary traditions of Slovenia are based on the principle “From the garden to the table”, that is, they encourage the use of natural products. There are strong relationships between local producers and chefs. In addition, the country's Tourism Board began to develop the Slovenian Green Cuisine brand. This culinary program is part of the country's overall tourism vision of sustainable travel.I have never been to wine and gastronomic tours before. Although some hints in our travels on them were constantly. If Anton and I found ourselves in any wine region, we always tried local wines, and when we had the opportunity, we would definitely visit wine cellars. So it was with us in Italy, Moldova, Hungary, Romania, Georgia, in Odessa, after all. When we got to Argentina, we even made a special trip to the famous Cuyo wine region to drive around its wineries, look at the vineyards and learn how the wine that is so popular in our country is made.
As for gastronomy, I can honestly tell you here: we have not yet had a single country, not a single city where we have not tried something local, special, with a typical flavor. If it was, of course. So, when I was invited to take part in a full-fledged wine and gastronomic tour around the Krasnodar Territory, I decided that this was a sign. A sign to finally and completely reveal this topic for yourself. Of course, as usual, in my first topical note, I will show you photos of the places we visited in three full days. But in addition, I will also tell you about what they are and how such tours proceed.

How to travel safely

1. Learn common scams

Wherever you go, there will always be people who want to cash in on you. If you're lucky, you'll crack them right away. But there are a bunch of professional scammers that are not so easy to recognize.

2. Write down the emergency numbers

If something bad happens, you may not have time to look up the number of the local police, ambulance, or embassy in your country. Write this information down ahead of time and create an emergency plan. Save all this on your phone, and also write it down on paper in case something happens to the phone.

3. Protect your valuables

It is better not to take valuable things on the road. But there is always something valuable, without which there is no way to travel - for example, an expensive camera. Minimize the risk of theft. Know that most bags are not safe. You might think that a closed bag is enough protection against a thief, and then doze off and wake up with a hole in it. If you do not have a special bag with cut protection, its fabric can be ripped open. Most zippers can be opened with a sharp object such as a pen.

4. Buy insurance

5. Ask locals for advice

If you want to know which area is safe, ask a local. Most of the locals are friendly and will warn you of dangerous areas.

6. Email your itinerary to friends and family

Approve the itinerary and send it to friends and family. Make sure they get it. Then periodically write to them where you are. Be sure to tell them when you return. If several days have passed since the date of the expected return, they should call the police or the embassy to start looking for you.

7. Don't Share Information

Too Much with Strangers If you want to share your itinerary with the general public, such as posting on Facebook, remember that this is a good way to keep track of your movements. Also, don't share travel details too much with people you've just met or where you'll be staying.

8. Dress smart Don't dress like a tourist.

The more authentic you look, the less attention you will attract. Wearing the right clothes is also a sign of respect. In many Islamic countries, there are a number of strict regulations on how to dress. In conservative countries, it is safer to dress more discreetly.

9. Don't skimp on security

If you have little money, you will want to save more on housing, flights, entertainment. But it is important to know that this is not always the safest way to travel. Cheap hostels are not always safe. Some of them do not have locks on the doors. Budget flights often take place in the middle of the night. This is usually not the best time to hail a taxi in a dangerous city.

10. Tie yourself to a bag

Quick thefts usually happen because the thief can do it quickly and easily. Therefore, any obstacles to the theft usually remove the risk that it will happen at all. If you can tie your backpack to something immovable in a way that makes it noticeable, thieves will know better than to mess with you. An effective way is to use a carabiner or ordinary rope around the leg or chair.

11. Don't use back pockets

This is the first place pickpockets check. If you are used to putting money there, get out of the habit. Stealing something from the front pockets is much more difficult. If you're really worried about money or are planning a trip to a city that is infested with pickpockets, you can try the money belt.

12. Travel in company

The more people around you, the more control over valuables and legs ready to chase thieves. The group intimidates scammers - their chances of profiting in this case are small. If you are traveling alone, consider making new friends and traveling together. Staying in hostels is a great way to make friends.

13. Take a first aid kit

Take medicine for cuts, sprains, stomach and burns with you. You can add painkillers, antiallergic tablets, plasters, antibiotics to the first aid kit.

14. Be aware of the risks

If you want to travel, you cannot avoid risks. Risk is an integral part of the adventure. But risks can be controlled. The news often shows countries as far less safe than they really are.

Bahamas

February 11, 2022
Bahamas - the incredible beauty of the island, which will give the most unique beach relaxation trip - there is only relaxation and no fuss! Beautiful villas, hotels, beach houses... Even Hollywood stars have their own mansions on these paradise islands! This is not surprising, the best place to relax is hard to imagine.
Are you dreaming or have already planned to make a tour to the Bahamas? Information about the Bahamas is essential.
Bahamas: location. The Bahamas are almost 700 small islands and reefs! They are located near the United States (Florida) and Cuba. Bahamas: the capital. The capital of the Bahamas is the city of Nassau, which is located on the island of New Providence. This is where 80% of the country's population lives! The Parliament Palace and the square, the famous royal gardens and the royal staircase, the Bay shopping street and other interesting sights are also located here. You can also relax in the capital - the Atlantis resort on Paradise Island will gladly accept all tourists! Bahamas: language. The official and widely used language in the Bahamas is English.

Bahamas: features of customs control. The customs regulations of the Bahamas allow the import of 200 cigarettes / 50 cigars / 450 grams of smoking tobacco (your choice!). Regarding alcohol, it is limited to a volume of 0.94 liters for both spirits and wine. It is forbidden to bring any narcotic and explosive substances into the islands. When exporting any agricultural products, plants, wood carvings, an export permit issued by the Ministry of Agriculture and Fisheries of the Bahamas will be required. Bahamas: tips. You can leave a tip in the Bahamas in the amount of 10-20% of the check amount (in most cases, almost 15% is left “on top” for almost all services). Bahamas: telephone. As for mobile communications, it is better to buy a prepaid SIM card (for example, from The Bahamas Telecommunications Company Ltd), especially for using the Internet. If you only need to call home a few times, it will be cheaper to buy a payphone card, which can be found in most large stores and gas stations.

Bahamas: official holidays. Be sure to try to plan a tour to the Bahamas so that you get to one of the local festivals or holidays. The most interesting holidays for tourists will be:

 New Year (1.01); In January - windsurfing championship (boarding with a sail);
In late May-early June, there is a week-long Caribbean Music and Dance Festival, and in late November, the Bahamas Music Festival (dates change annually, so it's best to look just before planning tour dates). July 10 - Independence Day.

TRAVEL SAVINGLY, OR HOW TO SEE THE WORLD FOR 100 DOLLARS

February 11, 2022
To spend a vacation abroad, you do not need thousands of dollars in a bank account and travel companies. You can see the sights, meet new people and feel the soul of the country with only 100 USD/EUR in your pocket. To do this, you, firstly, must definitely read our article "How to travel the world almost for free: 13 ways." For those who prefer to stay in five-star hotels with all-inclusive, this article will be useless. Well, notorious and risky travelers who dream of seeing the world, but, unfortunately, earn little, will find something useful here.

1. Visa The first

obstacle to the best vacation of your life is a visa. Getting it is not only problematic and time-consuming, but also quite expensive (minimum 35 euros). To get around this obstacle, you can choose a country in which we have a visa-free or simplified border crossing system.
The countries for which a visa-free regime for Ukrainians is carried out include Montenegro, Albania, Serbia, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Andorra, Russia, Belarus, Armenia, Bangladesh, Hong Kong, Georgia, Jordan, China, Malaysia, Maldives, Mongolia, Thailand, Turkey, Sri -Lanka, Argentina, Barbados, Brazil, Cuba, Mexico, Egypt, Fiji and many others.
But do not rejoice prematurely, as a visa fee may be required right at the country's airport. It is also worth considering the limited lines of stay in the country on a visa-free right and the cost of the road. So the best option for an economy tourist is Europe and neighboring Asia.

2. Road Now

comes the most expensive part of the journey - the road. The plane is fast, but insanely expensive, so it is better for an economy tourist to use the services of bus transportation or, if flying, then a low-cost one (the price of which is several times lower than a regular air carrier). You don’t need to buy a ticket right away, you should look for various discounts and low-cost websites where prices are much lower than in travel companies (Kayak.com).
What funds we have The ideal option is to have a gold credit card. But, upon returning home, it will have to be replenished with our own money, so this is not our option. It is better to take the funds that you can easily allocate for the trip without depriving the starving family. But even with a hundred euros you can travel well. It is also worth familiarizing yourself with the exchange rate in the country you are planning to visit in advance. In some countries, your 100 euros can be a fortune, and in others, such as Dubai, mere pennies. Before being horrified by the prices for hotels and restaurants abroad, it is worth determining for ourselves: what do we need to survive in a foreign country? The list is actually very small.

  1. - air;
  2. - water;
  3.  - food;
  4.  - dream;
  5. - safety;
  6. - Souvenirs and various little things, not very important, but tourists seem to be just the same necessary.

Bottom line Most of the money when traveling abroad goes to travel, accommodation, food and excursions. We need to find ways to cut spending in every possible category. Transportation is the least economical. Therefore, you need to find countries where the road is inexpensive, or save up money for a flight to Cuba or Bali and live there on $100 for a whole month. And this is not an exaggeration! Everything is really very cheap on these islands, and you can easily spend a whole month there on your salary alone.
